Epitaph for George Dillon is an early John Osborne play, one of two he wrote in collaboration with Anthony Creighton (the other is Personal Enemy). It was written before Look Back in Anger, the play which made Osborne’s career, but opened a year after in Oxford in 1957 and moved to London’s Royal Court theatre, where Look Back in Anger had debuted on May 8, 1956. It moved to New York shortly afterwards and garnered three Tony Award nominations.

The play tells the story of Kate Elliot’s unhappy suburban South London family and the domestic havoc wrought when she decides to adopt George Dillon as a surrogate son.

It tackles typical Osborne themes, including religion (and Osborne’s hatred thereof), vegetarianism, the casual deception of everyday life and scorn of the theatre. In common with Jimmy Porter in Look Back in Anger, George Dillon is an intelligent man unable find his place in the world.

A successful West End revival of the play ran at the Comedy Theatre from 27 September 2005 until 14 January 14 2006, directed by Peter Gill and starring Joseph Fiennes, Francesca Annis and Anne Reid.

It also featured Geoffrey Hutchings, Zoe Tapper, Dorothy Atkinson, Stephen Greif, Hugh Simon and Alex Dunbar.

This is a tale of uncontrollable jealousy, deception and murder driven by one of theatre's greatest villains.

Othello, the Moor of Venice is a tragedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written in approximately 1603, and based on the Italian short story "Un Capitano Moro" (A Moorish Captain) by Cinthio (a disciple of Boccaccio) first published in 1565. The work revolves around four central characters: Othello, a Moorish general in the Venetian army; his wife Desdemona; his lieutenant, Cassio; and his trusted ensign Iago. Because of its varied themes — racism, love, jealousy and betrayal — Othello remains relevant to the present day and is often performed in professional and community theatres alike. The play has also been the basis for numerous operatic, film and literary adaptations.

Demons, the British ITV-made Fantasy Drama, enjoyed it's premiere on BBC America, starting on Saturday 2nd January 2010 at 22:00.

DVD Box Sets

The DVD box set for Survivors Series 2 release date has been put back to 1st March 2010 (due to transmission delays) and there is to be a box set containing both Series 1 and Series 2 of Survivors!

Survivors on iPlayer

All six episodes of series two of Survivors will be available for streaming (or time-limited download) on the BBC iPlayer service. Rather than the standard seven-day access to a single episode (after which a new episode replaces the previous one) the entire series will be ’stacked’ on the iPlayer.

Monumental End!

In an interview on the Digital Spy website, Survivors actor Paterson Joseph (Greg) suggests that series two will conclude with a ‘monumental’ finale, as key storylines play out in episodes five and six.

Daily Mail Interview - Jan 2010

A new interview with Zoë by UK newspaper The Daily Mail posted in the Interviews Section. In the interview, Zoë talks about her acting career from when she first started acting in Stage Beauty, to her current role in Survivors, Series 2 of which is to be aired in the UK on January 12th and Series 1 airing in the US on February 13th.
