In mourning over the loss of one of their own, and with a new strain of the virus set to take hold, the Family find themselves battling on all fronts, as Adrian Hodges's drama charting the struggles of a handful of survivors in a post-virus apocalypse concludes.

The Family convene in the ruined Lab – with a new strain of the virus loose, the scientist's work to find a vaccine is more important than ever. But Abby's only concern is to find her son, Peter, glimpsed briefly beyond the confines of the Lab.

Al, believing that he has nothing left to lose, volunteers himself to test the vaccine. Meanwhile, Whitaker, surviving off the serum culled from Abby's blood, continues to hamper the Family's plans with lies and deceptions – leading the group to the abandoned airbase for a final showdown with the mysterious Landry.

Abby is played by Julie Graham, Peter by Jack Richardson, Al by Phillip Rhys, Whitaker by Nicholas Gleaves and Landry by Patrick Malahide.

Reunited and on the road, the Family travel south on the lookout for a new home, as the series charting the struggles of a handful of survivors in a post-virus apocalypse continues. They encounter a small but thriving community of survivors and, after some initial trepidation, decide to take up their offer of hospitality, but tragedy strikes when a member of the Family suddenly dies.

While Al and Sarah enjoy their new romance, Tom simmers as Anya makes friends with the new community's leader, Judy. But Tom's anger is short-lived when his relationship with Anya takes a dramatic twist. Greg and Abby leave together to follow up Greg's suspicions about a mysterious postcard, which lead him to an abandoned airfield. Meanwhile, a member of the Family discovers an elderly couple dying from a new, mutant strain of the virus...

Al is played by Phillip Rhys, Sarah by Robyn Addison, Tom by Max Beesley, Anya by Zoe Tapper, Judy by Morven Christie, Greg by Paterson Joseph and Abby by Julie Graham.

Tom and Greg are enslaved alongside Kevin and dozens of others in Mr Smithson's coal mine, as the series charting the struggles of a handful of survivors in a post-virus apocalypse continues.

Meanwhile, the Family are desperately hunting for them and follow Billy, their only lead, to a roadside motel where he is meeting his girlfriend, Sally. When questioned, Billy feigns ignorance and exits under the pretence of asking around while on his trading route, leaving the Family with Sally.

In the mine, an accident leaves Kevin badly injured. Greg formulates an escape plan by convincing Smithson that he is a geologist and that he has discovered a gas leak in the mine. However, the Family are converging on Smithson's with their own rescue plans, leading to a dangerous game of cat and mouse.

Tom is played by Max Beesley, Greg by Paterson Joseph, Kevin by Al Weaver Smithson by Christopher Fulford, Billy by Roger Lloyd Pack and Sally by Emma Lowndes.

Fifty-year-old cockney wide-boy Billy is a trader and opportunist, traversing the desolate roads of Britain in his well-stocked container lorry, as the series charting the struggle to stay alive of a handful of survivors in a post-virus apocalypse continues. Billy meets the Family on the road and hands over vital supplies. Surprised, but grateful for Billy's generosity, the Family decide to stay overnight in a cottage close by to help Abby recover from her terrifying ordeal at the Lab.

Later, at Samantha's compound, Billy reveals details of the Family's location, before dumping his young, innocent passenger, Kevin, at another mysterious compound. Samantha orders Dexter – her gun-toting henchman – to arrest Tom. She intends to reintroduce the judicial system, putting Tom on trial for the murder he committed previously against one of her people. With Tom captured and under arrest, Abby has no other option but to lead Greg and Anya in pursuit, later taking on the role of counsel for the Defence, while Greg and Anya become members of the jury. Tom's brutal past is finally revealed for all to hear, and the Family are confronted with the reality of the man they have been harbouring. As the trial threatens to fall apart, a string of betrayals and double-crosses ensues...

Billy is played by Roger Lloyd Pack, Abby by Julie Graham, Samantha by Nikki Amuka-Bird, Kevin by Al Weaver, Dexter by Anthony Flanagan, Tom by Max Beesley, Greg by Paterson Joseph and Anya by Zoe Tapper.

The Survivors continue to struggle

With Abby still missing and Greg recovering from his injuries, the family are holed up in the city, scavenging for survival, as the series written by Adrian Hodges and starring Julie Graham, Paterson Joseph, Zoe Tapper, Max Beesley and Nikki Amuka-Bird continues.

While Naj leaves graffiti messages across the crumbling landscape for Abby, Tom steals supplies from another group of survivors. The family learn that other people have been abducted in the same way as Abby, and that the kidnappers bear the markings of PSJ, a pharmaceutical company with offices in the city.

As Tom leads Al, Anya and Sarah off on this trail, Greg and Naj find themselves confronted by the group Tom stole from.

Meanwhile, in the lab, Abby finds herself re-infected by Whittaker, who will stop at nothing to find his miracle vaccine...

Abby is played by Julie Graham, Greg by Paterson Joseph, Naj by Chahak Patel, Tom by Max Beesley, Al by Phillip Rhys, Anya by Zoe Tapper and Sarah by Robyn Addison.

Demons, the British ITV-made Fantasy Drama, enjoyed it's premiere on BBC America, starting on Saturday 2nd January 2010 at 22:00.

DVD Box Sets

The DVD box set for Survivors Series 2 release date has been put back to 1st March 2010 (due to transmission delays) and there is to be a box set containing both Series 1 and Series 2 of Survivors!

Survivors on iPlayer

All six episodes of series two of Survivors will be available for streaming (or time-limited download) on the BBC iPlayer service. Rather than the standard seven-day access to a single episode (after which a new episode replaces the previous one) the entire series will be ’stacked’ on the iPlayer.

Monumental End!

In an interview on the Digital Spy website, Survivors actor Paterson Joseph (Greg) suggests that series two will conclude with a ‘monumental’ finale, as key storylines play out in episodes five and six.

Daily Mail Interview - Jan 2010

A new interview with Zoë by UK newspaper The Daily Mail posted in the Interviews Section. In the interview, Zoë talks about her acting career from when she first started acting in Stage Beauty, to her current role in Survivors, Series 2 of which is to be aired in the UK on January 12th and Series 1 airing in the US on February 13th.
